DRAM Buffer to SSD?

Grimm Spector

I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is I'm wondering what I'd need to set it up. I want to see if I can have incoming data from a NAS device get dumped FIRST into a DRAM cache without accessing the hard drives, and THEN get copied to the SSDs so that the SSDs aren't directly limiting the transfer speed of the file as long as it's below a certain size. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Software like samsung rapid I think can do this if the data size is small. I wish that kind of software gave more control over how the cache works. The other thing you can maybe do is make a virtual disk with imdisk, and then configure the software making the writes to use it as a temp drive
