Price increase in RAM

Hello you all

I want to build my new gaming rig but the ram price increased from 200 too 250 euro (corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8gb DDR4 3200 MHz). I was wondering if there is other ram that would work for me? This is my mobo:

Gigabyte ga-ab350-Gaming 3 ATX. And a little question about mobo's how do you know if you can overclock with it?

Thanks for your help and sorry for the bad English and stupid questions

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

I know you can overclock with it because I read it somewhere, but I would like to know how you can see it with just knowing the name

I don't have a Ryzen board so I can't make a personal recommendation of memory for your board, however Ryzen is extremely picky about ram... thus I recommend sticking to the ram listed in the chart I attached.

a b on the amd side and a z on Intel mobos, for example, b350 or z370

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

and an x on amd (x370) not to confuse with the z370

depends on the chipset.

for AMD:

  • A320 = no overclocking
  • B350 = overclocking enabled
  • X370 = overclocking enabled

for intel:

  • Z370 / Z270 / Zanything or go home

simply said, that's what you need to overclock.

how good you can overclock then depends on the quality of the mainboards voltage regulators and whatnot.

if you have a locked intel processor you won't zanthing that's just stupid if you don't plan to get an unlocked one in the future

I don't overclock so i don't need those fancy rams.

Working well for 3 months no problem.

fancy rams adds extra heatsink that most of the time not needed in normal operations.

we used to have naked memory sticks 5 years ago no problem, even with very tight latency.

memory prices already high why you need to add more for stupid heatsinks.
