Tn or IPS? G-sync or not?

Maxan98

Question number 1: Should i get Tn or IPS panel if im going to game in 144hz?

Question number 2: Is G-sync really worth it, so is it worth to wait a while to save up money and play with my 60hz monitor just so i can get a G-sync monitor?

With TN, you have to look at reviews carefully as some are terrible (not all)

If you have a powerful card that can push the frame rates above the refresh rate, G-sync doesnt come into effect anyway. Might as well spend on somewhere else.

So IPS is better but TN sometimes can be as good?

IPS is better than other types when it comes to performance. Good TNs look like IPS when looking straight at it, but a lot worse at an angle. Look at the price though, a good TN is often the best choice (unless you have a high budget)

if u wanna game at 144hz dont get gsync, it creates input lag just like vsync does , however vsync causes like a friggen 150-200ms input lag while gsync does like 70-120ms or so :P

unless u just want the hz for looks and not to be competitive xD then i guess why not, if u hate screentearing n shit ( which u wont rly get much at 144hz xD ) but yeah u know

if u sit straight at the monitor it isnt worth getting ips much if u compare the prices , if u like to look from angles or get a monitor size that is bigger than 27inch u should look into ips

1.144Hz IPS panel will be more expensive than TN especially the one with G-Sync.

2.Yes its worth every penny once u tried it u'll notice a butter smooth gameplay like never before.

Not only u must look at it dead on.

U must find the correct angle to find the sweetspot so the color will look good/not washed out.

I always got annoyed by TN panel because sometimes i tilt my head or resting my back and the color will shift so i have to lean forward again to my monitor.

Not sure which model u got there but u dont have to spend extra $100 to get an IPS over TN.

For daily use like browsing and video games the color might not look that great especially on cheap IPS panel.

But if you are getting into photography or anything that involve color you'll be willing to spend even extra $100 for IPS panel.

That depends ,on high end TN panel they can perform as great as IPS and can cover 100% sRGB color space.

But you still have TN viewing angle.

And even though u are okay with it those monitor would probably more expensive than IPS monitor that can do the same at lower cost.

Well can you afford the ips gsync panel? It's obviously going to have better colors. It's down to you to justify weather or not the price tag is worth pretty colors and a gsync module. If not then there's plenty of great budget tn panels or alternatively VA panels on the market for definitely cheaper prices.

IPS always, VA also ok. TN - No.

G-Sync if you can afford, if cannot just forget it.
