Ryzen 5 1600X CPU AM4 AIR COOLER?

Useless2112

Hi all! I have ordered the Ryzen 5 1600X and have just realized that it doesn't come with a stock cooler which I was originally planning on usual. I am OK with spending something like $30 (USD) on a aftermarket cooler. However I have seen many options and don't know which ones are compatible with AM4 my Asus Prime B350-Plus Motherboard, or my Phanteks P400 chassis.

Any and All opinions are appreciated. :D

Thanks!

i got a cryorig c7 universal (i think that was the name) it works really really food. I think it is actually a little overkill, i think it was like 40$. There are alot of coolers marked as being compatible but what they really mean is that you have to send in for another backplate which is bullshit. I know most noctua coolers and higher level cryorig and coolermaster coolers come with the plate, but cheaper stuff like the hyper 212 and cryorig c7 don't and you have to order them separately.

The Cryorig H7 looks like a good option for me. However, do I have to purchase an AM4 upgrade kit or does it come with one?

no you just have to order it separatly after you can prove you bought a cooler that needs it. thats why it sucks ass

i have a hyper 212 led just make sure that if you go buy one it says ""am4 compatible" on the front of the box because otherwise you'll but the older model that doesn't support it  (one last thing is that the cooler mounts horizontally good luck with your build :)
