First build in 15 years

So as a middle aged man i have decided that instead of getting a fast car or motorcycle i will build a just all in crazy totally overkill machine just because i can. I have now gotten as far as ordering the parts. Living in Norway i have a good excuse to order some hot parts so here is my parts list:

Case:

  • NZXT H440

CPU:

  • AMD Ryzen 1700X

Motherboard:

  • ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero (Wi-Fi AC)

RAM:

  • 16GB G.Skill Flare X AMD Series

GPU:

  • 2 x Gigabyte Radeon RX Vega 64 Aqua pack

PSU:

  • Corsair RMx Series RM1000x

Storage

  • 480GB Kingston SSDNow G2

Cooling:

  • EK 360 Extreme Kit
    • EK-Supremacy EVO
    • EK-CoolStream XE 360
    • 3 x EK-Vardar F3-120 (1850rpm)
    • EK-DDC 3.2 PWM Elite Edition (incl. pump holders)
    • EK-RES X3 150
  • 2 x EK-FC Radeon Vega - Acetal
  • EK-CoolStream SE 240 (Slim Dual)
  • 2 x EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm)

I will do it all using tubing as i don't trust myself doing hard lines, still not decided what fluid i will use but i consider some toxic green or pastel red, but my 8 year old daughter might decide that it should be pink .

I will put the 360 rad in the front configured with push-pull and will need to figure out where to put pump and res.

I will try to keep this log going keeping it updated with my mistakes and frustrations.

Update 11 Dec 2017: First delivery made and the water cooling  equipment has arrived

Currently i have 2 Dell UltraSharp 27 U2715H, I might get something better in the future but i dont expect to sit and game 24/7 i probably need to work 24/7 to pay for all of this so it will be the beafiest Word machine in scandinavia :D

well I was gonna suggest 1080(ti)s but if you need a space heater I can't knock that. Just get 3000mhz+ ram and you look fine

I will fanboy my way out of that and just say last machine i built was back in the glory days of AMD and also the machine will do some mining when not used. I do this because i can i don't have any good excuse and my gaming habits don't require this HW.

well, it might soon be that amd overtakes intel again, if amd builds on their cpu success and intel doesn't get their $h!t together

Then again I had to spend hours chasing down 2 RX vega i would be able to get a bunch of 1080TI in notime. I hope both will keep competing and make better products competition is good for consumers like us.

well, sadly AMD isn't competing so well on this front, nvidia was prepared to roll out volta sooner but held off because they felt no pressure, but hey, maybe it'll mean that it won't just be a paper launch like has been the norm of late xD

Looks good so far.And once you get it up and running look in to flashing those cards with the liquid cooled bios it will let them run a little bit faster.

Got stuck  tuning in the weekend will add some posts when i get home. but some info on the current overclock.

So running the CPU at 4025 and both vegas are clocking 1750 mhz and the memory is at 1180 on one of the cards and 1210 on the other. Still working on tuning the system but this have been running stable under load for 20 hours. Max temp on max load is 50 on the cpu, 48 on one vega and the other 51.
