Can't get 75hz on my Monitor

Riddler25

I bought a LG 25UM58-P few months ago and was using it with my laptop(Lenovo Y-500). I was getting constant 75hz and am still getting it via laptop. But when I connected it to my new PC few days ago I can't seem to get more than 60hz with HDMI.

My new build has 8700k, Asus Z370-E, no graphics card yet(should get it by the end of the week) and haven't activated windows 10(waiting the key). I tried installing drivers from LG's site but installation fails when try to install it.

What do you mean by unable to get more than 60hz?

You can't set the monitor to run at 60+hz? or you're not hitting 60+fps on games?

Just wait until then, make sure you have Display Port connected as HDMi won't work and set a custom resolution that has 75hz for refresh rate on nVidia control panel.

you dont need a display port cable hdmi will work just fine at 1080p up to 120 hz....also dont set a custom resolution in nvidia control panel.....this poster doesnt know what they are talking about.....your using intel onboard graphics and you never even mentioned if the card you are getting is going to be nvidia.....use the monitor tab in display adapter properties to set your refresh rate

I have that exact same monitor. I believe it only does 75Hz with freesync, otherwise it is 60Hz.

Upgrade your Intel driver and choose custom resolution if standard didn't list 75hz.

They is few timing option at custom resolution, choose the one it works.

As for monitor driver is not required.

Mine runs at 75hz over HDMI just fine - LG 25" Ultrawide

Used CRU to get there.
You don't need a monitor driver.

Just Nvidia Drivers and CRU, 2560x1080 75hz and Bam, Done.

Trade Nvidia for OP's Intel iGPU and so on.....

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
