PUBG to come to mobile

So i was checking my phone on the google app and since it tells me what i like i found this article. I dont think this is a good move for them as it will stretch such a small team too think for xbox, (ps4), pc, AND mobile. Please let me know what you guys think of this move.

Guess Razers 120hz screen may actually have a use now then.

 

Pretty stupid idea though. I imagine for the sake of fairness, mobile players could only play other mobile players? if it's cross-platform that's just dumb.

Yea, im more worried about how stretched thin they are now with just xbox and pc why would they think its a good idea?

Do you know how fucking huge tencent is? (in case you didn't, their 2016 net income was 6,279,943,750$US.)

They'll probably just hire a separate mobile team to develop a new game on which they'll use the PubG name/brand on.
Same mechanics, obviously, but a - probably - completely separate codebase and assets, though I guess they could try and optimize existing stuff for mobile. I doubt it though, the performance and hardware is too different.

It's so nice to see that after all of you have been conned into supporting this game they're branching off into a mobile port before they even leave early access or have the game be stable or worth a shit.

I actually hope this will do decent despite the odds being greatly against it. Anyone who plays video games knows how dead the mobile selection of video games has been (outside of Nintendo). I hope this will spark interest in decent games from big developers, as right now there is far too many "endless" games and simple puzzle solvers. Don't even get me started on the micro transaction strategy ones.

Also am I the only one that doesn't see the extended entertainment value in the Battle Royale genre? Especially the ones with single maps that always rely on the luck of finding a good gun & the skill of using it? OR only having a single gimmick of some wavy blue thing closing in on you instead of multiple gimmicks that might actually be interesting?

 

Or maybe I'm thinking too much into it. Obviously I wouldn't make any money as an indie dev lol

I'm with you.  I don't get "it".  But if it's popular then it's popular.  

 

Doesn't PUBG have a lot of issues as it is on PC?  Wouldn't it make sense to get out of alpha and fix those issues before porting?

Well, if they have to rewrite portions of the game to make it acceptable to the Chinese Government as is, they might as well also try to port it over to mobile...
