CableMod RGB Strips with Hue+

Do Cablemod wide beam RGB strips work with the Hue+? Wondering because my C236A board doesn't have a rgb header.

ok thanks I will keep that in mind. I have two strips already, but I want to control them in software instead of the remote.

i believe rgb headers are three pin connections, they should work in a hue no problem, i recall throwing rgb strips in a build for a old friend and used a corsair rgb controller no problem i cant imagine it would be to much different.

No the regular RGB LED’s will not, the Hue+ uses addressable LED’s where the normal RGB ones require analog control. 

 

Cable mod does have addressable LED’s which should work on the hue+ as long as they use the same protocol. @CableMod should be able to verify that.

Ok thanks I will contact them. Just wondering because I am fixing to buy RGB for another PC of mine and wandering because then I would just buy a hue+ and RGB lights for my rig and then just put my existing RGB in this new rig.

RGB headers are 4-pin. 12/5v + RGB Digital is 3-pin.

As for Hue, You have to check how there strips are configured, Never owned there device. Since some companies use custom RGB wiring.

 

There are some digital RGB out there which will require newer motherboards or Digital RGB controller. I know DarkSide sells both Normal RGB and Digital RGB. From what I can tell Hue is digital RGB, So DarkSide Digital RGB should work.

 

Aqua-Computer RGB controller will accept most "normal" RGB strips, it also has allot more features then Hue. It's also much cheaper.
