Wouldn't be nice to help out your Canadian countrymen with Canadian deals from time to time as well? ;) It's hard to find anything with these Canadian Rupees so I believe we require more help than the neighbours to the south.

I'm personally after drive space this year. But you'll never find 4TB HDD's for $99, let alone the conversion rate... (i'll never buy HDD's from NE)

not bad! this is a better parts list then any of your recent buildguides even lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I can't help but feel that the "$69 — my favorite amount of money (wink!)" gag would've been funnier if you'd had an insert of Yvonne in the lower-right corner saying something like, "LIES!" or, "Since WHEN?!"

Might be too on-the-nose, though.  ?

Oh god it's the $1000 PC build all over again, just let Kaby Lake die it's time has past! No one should be buying Kaby Lake man.

I understand it was probably planned before Coffee lake was a thing though.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

Been trying to figure out how to get the ASUS Tuf B350M for $69. Can't seem to find a way to have it show up at that price for a friend in the US who is looking at building a  Ryzen machine soon. It only keeps listing the $98.99 price. We will keep watching the price on it over the week and see if it shows up as $69 on Friday and over the weekend. Wish I could get it at close to the $70 CAD price here in Canada on newegg.ca so that I could get my Ryzen machine up and running faster.

The ASUS Tuf B350M Plus is said to be $69 in the video, but when you go to Newegg.com and the Linus Tech Tips sale and the product page on Newegg.com it just comes up as $98.99 still. One of my friends in the US went to order it after seeing the video and couldn't see the stated sale price of $69 for the motherboard. Some of the other items like the Vega 56 are showing as sold out so the sale price should be in effect already but not sure how to get it to come up as the $69 USD price for him.

Note sure then. In the thread post, James said it was $98.99 so no clue what's going on there.

Best Buy, at least in America, will often do deals on Western Digital 8 TB external drives.  If you shuck the drive out of the enclosure you end up with a WD Red.  I've been slowly filling up my NAS that way.  Definitely going to check Best Buy on Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

What external model are you using? because locally a 4TB enclosure thats "My Book" is currently cheaper than the red.

Last time I bought it was the WD - easystore 8 TB external for 159, my old box shows WDBCKA0080HBK-NESN for model number.

I tend to want the 8 TB ones for my overkill RAID 10 data hoarding NAS, but yeah the 4 TB are often better deals.  I'm hoping things like Toshiba talking 14 TB PMRs in 2018 helps push the price further down.

I don't see any of the LTT/NewEgg deals at NewEgg, either via LTT link or the link to specific products.  I was also disappointed to not see the EVA 850 SuperNova G2 power supply listed above nor at NewEgg for the $99.99, as mentioned in the LTT video.

Do we literally have to wait for Friday?  I ask because many stores have their Black Friday events running all week.  Perhaps that's why I'm confused?

None of these deals seem to be active. The Vega 56 shows out of stock and I have notifications set for it so I can confirm that since the start of the sale and after this video was posted, it has never gone below 470$.

Any clue when these deals actually go live in GMT?

In the video, Linus talks about things being a much lower price than they are shown as below the video, or on Newegg, for example,

Corsair Hydro H100i v2

$109.99 USD

but in the video Linus said it would be on sale for $85. I had assumed that the deals would only be active on Black Friday, but then I checked Newegg, and they say that this $109.99 price is already a "sale" price when compared with their "normal" $129.99 (for the record, most cites have had the price at 109.99 for weeks now). What's going on?

Maybe it's already on sale but will be even more sale-ier on Black Friday.

Intel is trying to get rid of all their newly obsolete chips; it doesn't make any sense for them to discount CL when all the KL chips are lying around due to an unexpectedly short sales window (b/c of competition from AMD).
