I mean updating the firmware of the controller itself .

You probably have the latest version anyways.

I bought my first xbox one s controller for my PC

I have a Bluetooth dongle also on my PC

can I just plug it and start playing

or I need to update the firmware first as many people recommend to do beore using it ? ?

can I just start playing now and update in future

or it will only allow to update firmware before first setup ?

You can try it, but I would always update it. I don't know why you wouldn't want to

Plugging it in should install the firmware you need on your PC if you're running Windows 10.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

I need to connect it with a wire to update it right ?

I read on reddit sometimes during the update the controller will disconnect and that will damage it

kike the motherboard bios that's why I'm afraid to update it
