It's $10 cheaper than the 1700x on amazon

 

Personally I'm inclined to recommend the 1800x because you can usually get better OC's with it, almost like a binned 1700.

Honestly from what I heard I would just get the 1700x cause it can overclock to 4.0ghz like the 1800x provided the power and thermals will probably be worse. The 1800 has a hard enough time getting to 4.1 or higher so to me the 1800x isn't a good deal for $50 more unless you really care about power and thermals. Speed is basically irrelevant comparing 1700x to 1800x so I would say save the $50

There was a promo code in the E-mail I found after the fact. I picked up an 1800x for 300$ yesterday, and I think for the next 24 hours the 1700x is 260$?. Couldn't resist grabbing the top of the stack... not to mention i'm not a fortune teller when it comes to sales -_-
