Which monitor should I get?

ZenMonkey

All three of the below monitors are currently $600, and I'm trying to decide which to buy. The C32HG70 has everything I want in a monitor (size, refresh rate, gtg response time, and color depth) except g-sync, but I might be able to make do for the other features. Not sure how important g-sync would be since I've never used an adaptive sync monitor.

Samsung C32HG70 - 31.5" curved 1440p 144Hz 10-bit color QLED VA panel w/ 1ms gtg response time and FreeSync2

Samsung C34F791 - 34" curved ultrawide 1440p 100Hz 8-bit QLED VA panel w/ 4ms gtg response time and FreeSync

AOC Agon AG271QG - 27" flat 1440p 165Hz 8-bit color IPS panel w/ 4ms gtg response time and GSync

I'd go AOC, but when you make a post like this it's rather useless unless you tell us what you're using the monitor for and what your hardware is.

The ultrawide also gives up response time and refresh rate.

I don't know how they have 1ms VA panel, but it says 1ms.

I'll take a look at your video.

All three are gaming monitors, so I thought it would be obvious that they were primarily for gaming, though I do work from home sometimes. I didn't think the hardware I was running would matter comparing the three against themselves on their own merits, and it's all listed in my profile, but I have a GTX 1080 to make it easy on you.

Dude the 240hz monitors have ghosting issues as well so it really doesn't matter what refresh rate it's at.

You listed FreeSync and GSync monitors. GSync works with Nvidia, FreeSync works with AMD. It matters.

Also, if you had a lower end video card, then the UW monitor is significantly harder to run.

Maybe you should familiarize yourself with these things before making assumptions about needing to provide the info or not, no?

I'd go with the last one. GSync, and it's easier to run than the ultrawide. The 32" is too big for the resolution, it won't look that good.

You 100% will not notice the difference in response time

Up to you if you think you'll notice 100hz vs 144hz

Free-Sync 2 seems useful though, as does HDR if it's real HDR.

The first one is also 2560x1440p, and if it has HDR, easily the one to get over paying out the ass for G-sync.

I'm aware how FreeSync and GSync work.

I wouldn't be looking at 1440p monitors if i didn't have the hardware to support it.

Maybe I shouldn't make assumptions, but neither should you :)

The one thing holding me back on the C32HG70 is I don't know if my gtx 1080 will consistently stay above 144Hz at 1440p on high (I can deal without ultra/epic but I'd like to play games at high). I imagine the HDR will make it even more difficult to do so.

The pixel density of the first monitor is the same as a 24" 1080p. Just doesn't seem like a decent choice IMO. I'd still go with the last one, especially since he said they're all the same price.

Exactly. Shouldn't assume. So, I wasn't, hence why I didn't assume you had the hardware to run it. Get it?

Your CPU is the bottleneck for 144hz gaming

Well, there's not much I can do about my CPU. It's fine for high refresh rate with 1080p, but not sure about 1440p.

Doesn't matter what the resolution is for the CPU, your CPU will determine the max FPS you can get in a game

As in you can run a 1080ti at 480p low settings to figure out how much fps a CPU can deliver
