New 8700k matx build

Dark

Since having children, my gaming hours have shifted in to the late evenings which has required my office door to be closed, turning it in to a sauna (see my other rig below).  I decided it was worth building a smaller single GPU system in an effort to remain somewhat 'cool'.

I'd like to hear your thoughts/criticism.  One criticism with my last build was the non sleeved psu cables so I grabbed a kit for this one even though you can't really see any of them.

Specs:

Intel 8700k (EKWB Supremacy MX block)

MSI Z370M Pro Gaming

MSI 1080 Ti 'aero' (EKWB FC nickel + acetal block + backplate)

32GB Corsair Dominator 3000 (4x8GB, waiting on the other pair to arrive)

2x Samsung 960 Pro 1TB

EKWB Coolstream 240mm and 120mm radiators

EKWB XRES DDC 3.1 MX pump+res

4x Gentle Typhoon 1450rpm, 1x 1850rpm

Inwin 301 matx case

LEPA G1600 PSU (unnecessary but I have a few laying around)

Just EK's soft water line.  I haven't really bothered with hard line yet.

Looks great dude! Would be nice to see more Ryzen builds though. :/

I certainly considered Ryzen but I was after ITX or MATX with 2x m.2 bays, I may have missed one for Ryzen if it's out there.

Some updated pics.
The second pair of memory was producing errors in memtest, so I sent it back and picked up some Vengence LED sticks (same capacity, same speed/timing).

  • 2 weeks later...

Rebuilding the loop!  Waiting on a few more fittings and the delid kit but may start bending the lines early.

Now that my main rig is back in action I am going to delid the 8700k and go hardline.

So much for going hardline.  Wasn't too happy with the Barrow 'frosted' tubing so I went back to EK ZMT.

Major changes:

8700k delid + liquid metal

additional 240mm EK SE radiator

EK DDC pump top and heatsink

EK-Res X3 110

Love the build.

What's in the top of you loop is it a extra 120mm above the pump and res combo?

There's the power supply compartment and the reservoir at the top of the case.  Unless you're looking at something else?
