switching hard drive with the same os

I want to know, What will happen if i use one HDD/SSD with one os installed to run many systems with different configuration. if any thing happens then why it happens? and for what difference it happens?  plzz let me know...........

It's not recommended as you can experience driver issues. Just do a clean installation.

Windows is a no go. While it can be done if the systems only have minor differences (like ram amount or non-critical pci cards), you'll probably run into problems soon enough.

Most Linux distros are perfectly happy with changing configs as long as the correct drivers and everything is installed. The more mainstream distros like Ubuntu may have more problems then others so you'l have to ask around about a specific one.

Depends on OS. Most Linux distros would work just fine as they use generic drivers. Windows is bit hit and miss. You can clean drivers in between installs so you can have drive for testing multiple systems. Win10 is better overall as in theory it just works with different hardware. Ofc it will be unactivated, but countdown does reset everytime mobo is changed.
