Asus Sabertooth not allowing sound via front panel on pc

I have this weird issue where my realtek audio isn't working via the front panel mic and headphone port, im using a display port on my gtx 1070 if that's anything, it worked a couple of days ago, it now doesn't, I've tried driver re-installs, looked online, peeked in the pc and looked at the cables

It just won't have it. Even bios settings and I can't seem to get it working (it had realtek HD and something called ac97

Any ideas?, thanks

Are you sure your front panel is plugged into the motherboard completely?

Mine comes up as speaker or line in sometimes, depending on whether I pick ac97 or HD, a weird issue I guess, it worked a few days ago, now it doesn't

Couple things I would try, you may have done them already, but I'll list them anyway.

1. Go to device manager and disable then enable the audio drivers as well as click and check for updates.

2. Uninstall audio drivers, go to Asus website and download latest Realtek HD Audio drivers from their site. Reboot and then install new drivers

3. In control panel, uninstall any audio programs and then restart and reinstall

After that if still having issues, may be a problem with the board, but most likely a driver issue

I did those, but stupidly not in that order, I'll go attempt again, thank you for a possible solution ?
