gtx 1070 vs 1070 ti?

charbel1011

More worth getting 1080ti if you are considering spending that much money for 1070ti.

Whats the difference? and is it worth upgrading?

not worth upgrading. The only card arguably worth upgrading to from a 1070 is a 1080Ti.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Oneplus 6 (Early 2023 to present) | HP Envy 15" x360 R7 5700U (Mid 2021 to present) | Steam Deck (Late 2022 to present)

not even that. 980ti is similar (if not better, depends on overclocking performance on each card) to a 1070.

Agreed, I am running a gigabyte g1 980 TI which I overclocked and getting better results than my buddies 1070 - although he does not really upgrade, I am considering upgrading to a 1080TI though, as that is the only card that gives a decent performance improvement over the 980TI, although i'm still a bit hard pressed to upgrade!

as per most of the videos I have watched with regards to the 1070 TI and this is NOT from personal experience, but it seems to be closer to the 1080 than what it is to the 1070. Is it worth upgrading? Well that depends what you currently have. If you have something like a 980 TI like I do, I personally would not bother to upgrade to anything less than a 1080TI. Upgrading to anything less for me, would feel like a waste and i'm sure I would be disappointed with the performance .

Nice, EVGA makes nice products and their support is great.

But holy crap, personally I could never justify spending that much money on a GPU (even though I have the money). $350 is where I draw the line (and what I bought my used 980Ti for).

Pretty much if you have a 1070 or better, the 1080Ti offers a good performance increase. But you only really need that much power if you are gaming at 4K or trying to get 1440p @ 144HZ or something like that. For 1080p or 1440P/60Hz it is way overkill.

I got this gpu is because im upgrading my monitor to 34 inch 1440p 144hz on christmas and beside i didn't pay 760$ for it i sold my old graphic card for 360$ and im adding that to it. so i am paying from my own pocket 400$ which isn't that bad for a gpu that's a monster.

Yeah for 1440p 144Hz it makes sense, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of that card.

But don't fool yourself, you still paid $760 for it. Which is fine, you can do with your money as you please. But if you sold your GPU and didnt buy the 1080Ti you'd have that $360 in your pocket ;).
