Ummm, the whole reason the current GPU market is so high is because of mining. GPUs mine better than CPUs (typically). That's why everyone's buying up GPUs - for mining. You don't have to mine "bitcoin" specifically. There's tons of other options out there that are profitable. I'm currently mining ETH and Monero and pulling in a decent profit.

I never said you didn't know what you're talking about. I was simply pointing out that there are plenty of other crypto-currencies this guy could mine with his rig and pull a profit. That's all.

What does this have to do with me being a mod?

just so you guys know, its a clickbait title. They are making it for any cryptocurrency not just bitcoin. Click the youtube link and read the title and description.

The guys doing it know its not gonna be used to mine bitcoin, just some other coins instead.

I prefer being old school and earn my money with a job instead of wasting electricity to make completely useless math calculation for a virtual piece of data that some crazy people think is worth any thing.

Then again people can mine all they want by me, it hasn't stop me from getting the highest end nVidia GPU yet so what do I care.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. It's a easy to make a computer tbh, and I don't understand how some people find it so difficult...

The only thing that might be hard is cable management and finding out where the cables need to plug into.

everyone converts their currency they mine to bitcoin.

I convert ETH and Monero straight into CAD for direct deposit. Doesn't have to be converted to bitcoin, then money. Can be done in several different ways.

That is the one thing miners can't help always saying when they feel provoked too much to ignore the simple fact the money you make is quite insignificant when facing the waste of resources from our world to achieve, again, a completely pointless result.

Nothing productivity as made other than burning electricity with expensive metal therefore I really think the whole cryptocurrency will soon or later be forced to change its format, this whole making money out of thin air has never really worked neither it ever will, at least in the long run.

This is like a pyramid scheme, sure at first you make money out of it and feel due to that alone the whole scheme is justified despite its weak foundations, without really thinking of any future consequence, if you want to profit on this possible to consider immoral ride you might want to consider just doing it without trying to raise so many flags in its favour, specially in a forum filled with gamers pissed that miners inflated the prices of their cards. ;)

Let me posit something to you so that perhaps you see things from a slightly different perspective. My family has been struggling financially for some time now due to a number of unforeseen circumstances over the past 2 years or so. By mining with my gaming rig and now also with a dual Xeon workstation PC I picked up recently for next to nothing, the extra income that mining has provided for us has been quite helpful. It's not a HUGE amount of money, but it's enough to make a difference - to us - and has had almost no negative impact on our hydro bill.

So no, it's not a "pointless result" and the money I make from it is not "insignificant". Not for me and my family. Not when it pays for some of our groceries or gas for the car so I can get to work each week.
