Guys spends money to mine bitcoin when everyone knows you need an ASIC machine to mine and make profit (more like 900 ASIC machines)

Ummm, the whole reason the current GPU market is so high is because of mining. GPUs mine better than CPUs (typically). That's why everyone's buying up GPUs - for mining. You don't have to mine "bitcoin" specifically. There's tons of other options out there that are profitable. I'm currently mining ETH and Monero and pulling in a decent profit.

I never said you didn't know what you're talking about. I was simply pointing out that there are plenty of other crypto-currencies this guy could mine with his rig and pull a profit. That's all.

I prefer being old school and earn my money with a job instead of wasting electricity to make completely useless math calculation for a virtual piece of data that some crazy people think is worth any thing.

Um, I use GPU's to mine for Nicehash.com and they pay me in Bitcoin.  I am not mining Bitcoin, but my mining gets me bitcoin.  See how that works?

everyone converts their currency they mine to bitcoin.

I convert ETH and Monero straight into CAD for direct deposit. Doesn't have to be converted to bitcoin, then money. Can be done in several different ways.

i didnt know that, i've been told that you convert it to bitcoin then you can do bitcoin to cash but i guess i was never told you can ONLY do that. but i've never mined i've just looked into the process of it

Let me posit something to you so that perhaps you see things from a slightly different perspective. My family has been struggling financially for some time now due to a number of unforeseen circumstances over the past 2 years or so. By mining with my gaming rig and now also with a dual Xeon workstation PC I picked up recently for next to nothing, the extra income that mining has provided for us has been quite helpful. It's not a HUGE amount of money, but it's enough to make a difference - to us - and has had almost no negative impact on our hydro bill. 

 

So no, it's not a "pointless result" and the money I make from it is not "insignificant". Not for me and my family. Not when it pays for some of our groceries or gas for the car so I can get to work each week.
