  1. 1. What RX Vega model to choose from.

    • RX VEGA 56(420$)
    • RX VEGA 64(500$
    • RX VEGA 64 SILVER LIMITED EDITION OR WHATEVER(500$)

Hello all,

I was wondering if I should get the rx vega 56 420$ on pcpartpicker, or rx vega 64.The rx vega 64 is only around 80$ more expensive. The problem is there are 2 rx vega 64s, the limited edition or whatever or the normal Radeon version. These 2 are the same price although there are 2 things,

1. The normal vega 64 would fit better in my color scheme

2. I think I could get away with a limited and sell it later on but IDK

So is the extra 80$ worth it?

56, flash it with a 64 bios and see if you can unlock a few cores and then either tinker it to shits or be happy with it

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Due to thermals etc. there isn't actually much of a performance difference between 56 and 64, and the 56 is significantly more power-efficient. So I would definitely go for the 56.

The "silver" limited edition card have just different color that looks fancy, nothing better in it. And it is NOT a liquid cooled edition (though LC edition does also have silver cover). I would recommend Vega 56 if you're not after fancy silver cover.

Vega 56 is the easy choice, just flash it to 64 BIOS, performs pretty close since HBM matters more than core speed.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...
