According to the product page that British mobile provider 3G UK posted, the Razer Phone will have some serious power under the hood. It'll sport a 120Hz 5.72" IGZO display, as well as 8GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a giant 4000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+, and THX-certified dual front-facing speakers with Dolby ATMOS. It looks like the phone will run a stock-ish version of Android, given the clean-looking lock screen. Oh, and check out that 13:37 Easter egg in the potatocam photo. Razer has a sense of humor.

 

I like that its going to have a 120Hz screen (1440p), 8GB of RAM and dual front facing speakers, 4,000 mAh battery, it is looking like it can be a great high end phone option.

On a more serious note, I wonder how much will it cost because if it's going to be at least similar in price to regular phones, this might be a good alternative for power users. Though knowing "Razer tax", it might cost an arm and a leg.

Sadly due to the new pricing trend seeing it at around $900 could happen, and it in line with competition, I am hoping for more around $600

all that OMG specs won't matter if the after sales support is terrible.. this would be just another e-peen measurement for who have the more impressive specs on paper

Interested to see how apps and the UI take advantage of that screen, they might do it the way Apple does it with the iPad Pro.

 

But, this thing is gonna be seriously expensive, I wouldn't be surprised if they priced it around $1000. And also don't forget that Razer tax.

anyway this would make sense i guess, 120Hz would make it quite a gamer phone i guess. not especially interested seeing as mobile hardware isnt to the point where it can power a decent experience for VR nor any major games so its uninteresting to me how well it performs beyond watching youtube and web browsing tbh

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

It won't be able to do VR since it'll be an LCD panel from Sharp and I doubt the 835 could do 120 fps in most titles at 1440p.

there is, as i said, not powerfull enough hardware for the mobile space to power a decent VR experience to begin with so why should this? this might be better at running those few and pretty shitty experiences that already exist but we simply do not have powerfull enough and power efficient hardware to put in phones to make phone VR a decent thing if you ask me

why do you even need a 120Hz display on a phone. All youtube and netflix content runs at a max 60fps anyway.

I feel like the only thing that should require a screen refresh rate above 60hertz is a gaming computer.

I'd never knock something for adding a new feature but I can't really see 120Hz having much use on a phone screen.

Well, the point is that even if it had a 6950X and 1080 Ti SLI it wouldn't be able to do VR because the display can't do VR. The cherry on top is that it can't render 120 fps whether it was VR or not.
