NZXT H700i - Is it worth?

FUR1AN

Hey everyone,

Currently building a high end PC and was considering the new NZXT H700i. I know it’s overpriced. But it does come with some great features. Central of which is the new CAM module that supposedly is a substitute for the Hue+ and Grid V2 components in previous gen cases. Assuming the cost of those reduced off of the $200usd H700i, it is reasonably priced.

What do you guys think, is it worth the hefty price?

Personally, I wouldn't go for it, but I'm generally going for cheaper cases - seeing them only as housing to put pieces inside rather than "pieces of art and expression".

For Grid V2, I see no reason not to go with bios tuning and for Hue +, I don't know enough to critique it.

CAM seems like it is convenient, but are you willing to pay the extra cash for good looks and the ease of a setup you use once?

Cases are quite subjective, so I usually don't comment, but I hate the CAM software with such a passion that I'd say no way.

Only you can answer that. Worth is a relative term. Some will see it as worth it, some won't.

I'd easily spend up to $350 for the right case. So if it's what you want and you like it, go for it.

Why do you dislike the software so much? I have never used it but I would guess that its direct comparisons would be Corsair Link, and Asus Aura.

It's a resource hog. I use link & aura now and they take almost nothing in the background. Sometimes I'd catch CAM using 20% CPU for no reason.

I've personally spent upwards of $200 on a case, but I wouldn't for this case.

Almost half the cost is in the $50 controller and the fans. If they gave us options to buy the case at a reduced cost that didnt include that stuff that I would personally never use, then it might make my recommendation list. Though, I suppose if you wanted to invest into the NZXT RGB ecosystem it wouldn't be bad actually. CAM software is notoriously buggy.

At this point I'm still sticking with the Meshify C and Pro M TG as my go to's, with Define C TG and 460X being runner ups.
