Touched the back of my motherboard with metal while it was running

Okay, so what happened is that my PC was running and I wanted to check something on the back of my motherboard with a magnifying glass (made of metal). I accidentally touched the metal part on the back that is behind the processor. This is the part I touched (not my mobo on the picture, only there for reference): 

 

Nothing happened, the pc is working fine. Is it possible I damaged something?

the big metal block behind the cpu? that's a backplate for your cpu cooler. it's fine, that part doesn't touch any other components.

That should be the bracket for holding your CPU cooler, which would of course be non conductive (or at least not conducting any electricity). So you should be fine

I'm using the stock Intel cooler, not sure if the metal part plays any role regarding it.

It's for reinforcement purposes, that way the mechanical stress created by the socket itself does not lay on the PCB alone. 

 

Just don't place metallic parts close to any contact while the rig is running. You already knew it wasn't right. Shut it down, unplug and take a peek all you want.
