I7 7800X vs RYZEN 1800X

So im looking for an upgrade 《now》that's why the 8700k is out it will take too much time

This what im thinking about

X370 RYZEN

What i do on my computer

1.heavy montage using premiere {most important} 

2. Gaming 60-120 fps 

3.basic stuff

i care about hackintoush is there is a really good thing about  ryzen that worth losing Hackintosh ability ?

So what do you think which is better and why    

remember my budget is about 700$-800$ the lower the better ?

I would always recommend the r7 1700 over it's big brothers the 1700x and 1800x as they are all the same chip and will overclock roughly the same amount to around 4ghz.

^ yeah like he says and also that means it's significantly cheaper than a x299 system for comparable performance and much lower power draw (so even lower wattage/ cost PSU)

that will be overkill for ryzen but if you OC the x299 CPU it will probably not be enough

appart from the cost i don't think so.... but i'm not really a hackingtosh guy so i'm wouldn't be able to value how much you win or lose here. going intel here is going to be a price jump akin to buying a mac rather than a normal PC with same specs. if you're a hackingtosh person i'd imagine it's because of this price BS but i'm not you

Agreed, I was waiting on the X399 and X299 platform offerings and decided after all the waiting to just get the R7 1700. No significant performance gains to spend over $400 more after getting the 1900x and a motherboard, and the buying an i7-7800x and not getting access to all PCI-E lanes available on a stupidly expensive motherboard makes no sense.

 

As the 1800x does not OC past 4.0GHz (rarely do people get 4.1GHz), and the 1700 can do 3.9-4.0GHz, it is within a 5% performance margin yet you save over $150 so don't bother with the 1800x, or the 1700x for that fact.

If you don't need PCI-e lanes you should go with the i7 8700k it is the fastest at premiere while you can still hackintosh even though Windows is better any ways

Is 8700k really not an option?...more and more people are getting their chips.  It is definitely the best fit for your needs.

That is rare and there are also r7 1700 cpus that have reached 4.1 ghz so it is really all luck what you get as far as overclocking potential.

Notice he/she said they wanted to upgrade immediately, the i7-8700k is probably an easy 6 weeks away from being in stock, or for that matter any 6 core Intel CPU.

People ordered 8700Ks tonight that will ship tomorrow.  Supply is trickling, but it moving.

 

They were instock at Newegg for 15 minutes tonight.

I don't know what supply is like in Saudi Arabia.  I have been pretty surprised with how many 8700k owners I have seen on Reddit from smaller countries.  They may be hard to get right now, but people are getting them.  It may be worth the effort if possible for the OP.

afaik macOS supports ryzrn cpus, theres a dude who made a hackintosh with an r5 1600 and an rx 480 i believe

It is good, but remember that air coolers in that price bracket are better in performance and noise levels.
