Video overlaying in davinchi resolve?

I’m trying to make a video and I want to have a background clip playing with a semi opaque frame over the top. How do I do that in davinchi resolve 14? Thanks!

How to fix this:

-Open davinchi

-Close dacinchi

-Uninstall davinchi

-Install Sony Vegas Pro 15 or Adobe Premiere Pro

Kid Premiere Pro is $60/month and Vegas Pro is not free either. Davinchi is an excellent FREE video editing program. Not everyone is made of money

Make sure to put the video you want overlaying on top of the video playing, then look for a "opacity" slider and put it somewhere from 50-75%.

I would rather spend the money on a program than use davinchi, sorry if you dont agree thats my opinion

I actually used premiere for a month but the money was too much and I liked Davinchi resolve better.

Use whatever works. Software does not make the editor. That being said, you need to know what you are using. What are you using as a frame? Are you referencing a jpg image? Why don't you just create a mask or a power window so that it removes the parts of the frame you don't want in the shot.

 

Could you give a screen shot of the footage pieces you want overlaid?
