Favorite multi-tools

Beef Boss
Go to solution Solved by Nuluvius,

So after losing my second favorite EDC tool, my Leatherman Supertool 300, I'm looking for a new one. I don't want the same one, but I'd be interested in any other brands you guys use. I'm looking at the Surge from Leatherman but I'm waiting until the black and silver comes in stocks again. I would classify my usage as extremely heavy duty. This can range from using it as a hammer, to tightening bolts and screws, bending metal, and my personal favorite cutting nails. I'm in the 150-180 range.  DO NOT MENTION SWISS ARMY KNIVES THEY DO NOT COUNT

I prefer a dedicated tool for most purposes, but I has a Gerber Multiplier.

Well, we do have a dedicated tool for everything but a multitool is nice when I'm not near our garage. I don't mean to be that guy, but I've broke two Gerbers now they're so weak... Not to be rude >°>

I use Leatherman' tools and have several different ones.

Honestly it really depends on the use case you have.

I have the;

Original - 3 (one lives on my duty belt)

Wave - 2 (one of these lives in my gear bag)

Crunch - 1

Skeletool - 1

Micra - 1

Considering for various reasons

Z-Rex

Raptor

MUT or MUT EOC [still deciding]

Possibly one of the TI models for weight purposes.

I have broken 2 of my Leatherman's but they have replaced each one broke.

But yeah dedicated tools are the preference but in a tight situation multi-tools are valuable to have. Every time I went in the field while still serving I had at least one of my leathermans on me. I still today when I am on an armed detail carry one on my belt. just never know.

I keep a toolbox in my truck. I don't go anywhere where I could possibly need a tool without that. So, best multitool would be said truck.

My M&P Shield 9mm or XDm .40. Great for opening doors, protection, and knocking down fauna of the steel variety. #PeskyLawnGnomes

I would probably just say a fixed-blade knife with a full-tang and the ability to be used as a split or prying tool.

Not old enough to legally own or carry. And my Brous Bionic 2.0 doesn't leave me. Carrying fixed blades that big would be comical.

Yeah I have the Rebar, skeletool Carbon fiber, micra, and a Gerber that didn't break yet. These pliers bend when I use them, my super tool didn't. Granted, what I use them for isn't what they're made for but nothing is made for this. And this metal is soft so the teeth get flat quick

I know this isnt really a multitool...more of a swiss army knife thingy... But I love my Victorinox minichamp. Have it on my keyring and it helps with everyday tasks a lot.

I know that most of the Leatherman line up is Stainless steel or Titanium. I think Gerber is either stainless or carbon steel.

I almost forgot I also have the Gerber Effect Military Maintenance Tool [issued] as well. Its nice.

Not huge fan of the gerber multi tool line up but they a great selection of other tools and knives. :)

Functionally, Leatherman Wingman.

Visually, Victorinox Pioneer X Damascus. Oops I didn't read.
