Should i buy a new CPU or a new phone.

So currently i have a i5 4590 as my CPU, and i have a Iphone 5s as my currently daily phone. Should i buy a new CPU or a new phone. I don't game on my phone but pc is for programming/gaming/editing/rendering.  I was looking to upgrade to the i7 4790 cpu. But if i was to upgrade phones i was looking at the one plus 5 with octacore and 6 gigs of ram and 64gb storage. I cannot make a choice on what to get. Can you guys help.

Just one question you can ask yourself for each you asked...

 

Is your phone still working and doing everything you need form it? If yes, don't buy a new phone.

Is your cpu still up to par form the things you need it doing? If yes, don't buy a new cpu.

I sold my GTX 1080 Ti to buy a note 8, now I am use old card GTX 970

For you, I think you should upgrade the CPU will be better, because I don't think downgrade a CPU or sell it is a better choose.

What do you use more on a regular basis? What is more important to you: using apps on your phone, or getting extra fps in games?

 

Keep in mind that if you switch over to Android none of your paid apps (outside of subscription services like Spotify) will transfer over.

 

I'd suggest going for a 120 hrtz display if your rig can power one.

Even then, it's marginally more FPS in this case.

Personally I wouldn't get the OnePlus device.

Since we're not terribly far from a whole new batch of devices I'm going to say CPU. Though really, you shouldn't be paying much for an i7 that's that old.

I have friends with iPhone 4's as daily drivers. It depends on whether or not you believe you need an upgrade from your current phone.
