steam and ubuntu issues

So on my extra HTPC i installed Ubuntu 16.04 and I installed steam but it doesnt open up whatso ever. I click the icon and nothing happens

https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-steam-on-ubuntu-16-04-xenial-xerus See if this works. I don't particularly remember how I got Steam on my old Ubuntu 16.04 installation but this should work.

Should i uninstall steam that I have now? or is that code that I should put it with it already installed?

try to open steam on the terminal, and see what error is giving to you.

Here are the commands you need to install steam

 

sudo apt-get update

 

Then

 

sudo apt-get install steam

 

Doing it from the software app always fails 

System specs:

4790k

GTX 1050

16GB DDR3

Samsung evo SSD

a few HDD's
