Savage Jerky Sponsor?

I am just curious about how many people tune out of the wan show when the Savage Jerky Sponsor comes on? I get (no other ways to put this) triggered when I hear mouth noises. They also seem to not talk as quick because of extra saliva production. Is eating during a tech talk show considered professional? Curious to what everyone else has to say.

To be honest, I love Jerky. I even though of buying a few from Savage Jerky, im just not in to very spicy foods.

I don't care "how good" they are, it just isn't worth the price they are asking to ship a small amount of jerky that could easily fit in an envelope.

This, is for a single package of "MOJO JALAPENO" Jerky, to have it shipped to Canada.

Not to mention that's in USD! I've literally shipped hardware for cheaper than that to the furthest end of the US from Canada.

And who the hell crave Jerky so much they will pay $90 USD for 1 day shipping.

Could just go to the local store, get three pack of jerky for $7 CAD each and still come out richer than if I bought a single pack of Savage Jerky with the cheapest shipping option.

 

... This is one thing I don't like about the sponsorship on LTT, even though they are a Canadian channel, theirs ads are mainly for the US market where Canadians get fucked over. I get that's where the majority of their viewers are, but come the fuck on!

The price is more reasonable if you buy multiple packs. I got buffalo maple bacon jerky and teriyaki beef jerky. 

 

It came to abour $40 CAD, which is still crazy expensive but for a one time premium experience it was worth it. With that in mind, I doubt I’d buy again.

Just so you know they have non-spicy options. The teriyaki is not spicy in the slightest. The buffalo maple bacon is a bit spicy but very mild. 

 

Just look for the packages that have only one “bar” on the scale, which can be found on the package (the maple bacon has 2 bars).

I don't really tune out because of it. I do get annoyed by chewing sounds if they get too loud, but I usually watch WAN on my TV, and don't notice it as much versus using headphones.

They really don’t chew very loud on the WAN show. They have one mic spaced in the middle between them. It could be much worse. 

 

It’s the WAN show after all - not really known for super professionalism. It’s what most people like about the show.

Someone mentioned here that it's quite expensive to order savage jerky. I agree, I'd love to try it but  shipping across the pond is even worse. And Beef Jerky is already expensive as it is. BTW anyone here into making beef jerky at home like me? Saves a lot of money in the long run.

A single pack costs 3$ to ship to me in the states. The 7.99 for a 3oz pack of jerkey is like gas station prices around here, I see stuff I really like for 3.99 or less often from name brands. 

Oh yea, to get a shipping estimate, you have to put in your email, name, and address, not just a zip like most sites.

I live on a farm and we raise our own cows and make jerky sometimes and everything like this tastes god awful compared to the real stuff. We also probably make a couple thousand dollars worth of it going based off jack links and savage jerky pricing

jack links is literally half the price of this.

I tune out of all the adverts they do because they're just that. Paid product placement. I wouldn't take anything they say seriously during them. The sound of the chewing doesn't bother me at all. It's super quiet. Maybe you just listen to the video too loudly?

Eh, not too surprising. You live in Canada. Shipping from the US has always been expensive and went up a couple years ago to ridiculous levels. Even an envelope costs a great deal to ship, because I'd imagine it's thicker than would fit through as letter mail, plus they have to have the ability to track the package. Adds to the cost.

Their shipping system likely just grabs pricing from each category, mostly aimed at US customers, not customers abroad.

I could buy a Honda instead of a Land Rover. The Honda is cheaper. At the end of the day, it's not a Land Rover. So saying you could buy something cheaper elsewhere is kind of a moot point.

It's the smartest from a business perspective. They make ~30% more when they get US ads. Canadians don't really get fucked over that badly once you factor in exchange rates.

Not the same thing though. They don't have nearly the flavor selection. Though that's their USP. That, and marketing through places like YouTube where younger people are likely to go for something their "idols" recommend. Same thing with Mac Weldon. Their products aren't really that great compared to other premium underwear brands, but they put a lot into advertising so people will buy their products.

To be fair, Jack Links probably *does* have just as many flavours as Savage Jerky does. 

 

Here in Canada they’re even doing siracha and others too. 

 

Jack Links Teriyaki is my favourite. I like it even better than Savage. 

 

To be honest, i find most jerky brands (at least the various ones you see in store in Canada) aside from Jack Links to be pretty shitty. 

 

Usually over dried out pieces of husk that have no flavour, or are pasted with so much shitty tasting sauce to cover the fact that they’re basically leather.

I was just basing that off of @BuckGup comparing them, though jack links can be as high as 11$ for 3z in truck stops.

I think Savage has more, at least glancing at their websites. They at least have more variety, though I think Krave has the most interesting variety of flavors. I agree though, most jerky up here is pretty poor. Sobeys has pretty good jerky in the deli though.

I enjoy watching the hosts occasionally suffer, the postage costs do suck (I lashed out last week and bought a couple of bags), but if it's a good snack (and laugh), I'm ok with it. Hindsight, I could have probably gotten a few more bags.

Be thankful, not like Twitch would allow Linus to demo the One Wipe Charlies on camera (although I imagine there would be some part of the internet drooling over that idea).

I have to admit, the only time that noise bothers me is if people are wearing a headset mic or a bluetooth earpiece. I remember those earpieces on ps3 when people would eat chips and shit, the mic was in the perfect position by the jaw bone to exaggerate all the sounds of crunching and saliva.  Swear I could hear the enzymes break down the chips.

Some people can’t deal with the sound, if that’s one hung then it must be petheic If you get annoyed at little kids screaming at the top of their lungs. That’s how bad it is for people who don’t like chewing sounds,

 

That’s why a lot of YouTube vidoes with food or chewing noises will have a warning to say if you don’t like that sounds turn down the volume
