Can the Cooler Master Airmaker 8 handle overclocked i7-7700k?

Go to solution Solved by ImNotThere,

i would advise against buying a 7700k, but if you already have then id go with 4.8 ghz, less heat, almist guarenteed stable and only slightky kess performance as its only 200mhz

I'll be using the Cooler Master Airmaker 8 to cool my over clocked i7-7700k processor. I plan to overclock the cpu to 5Ghz. I'm wondering if anyone here would advise against that? Would this air cooler be able to keep my cpu at stable/healthy tempatures?

Yup, seeing as how 5ghz is good for a 7700k, it should be fine as long as you already have it.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

no, unless you delidde, temps will go up because of the shitty thermal paste that includes inside of the cpu

true but the cm masterair 8 is a large heatsink with 2 fans so shoukd cool ok.

You should be able to hit 5GHz on it and still keep the chip under 70C, even though it is massively over-priced.

I think I'm going to go ahead overclock to 4.8 and see how tempatures are. If stable, I'll go head and take tmcclelland455's advice and push it to 5ghz to see how tempatures are after that. I appreciate your comment, thank you.

Thanks tmcclelland455, I will be overclocking to 4.8 and then 5ghz and report back with my results at a later time.
