triple 6870?

Will a triple 6870 setup be any good or not?

I am mostly concerned about the 1gb of ram..

I like to play skyrim maxed out with 2k textures at 45 fps AT LEAST

The same count for bf3 and fc3

no i would not get another 6870 most newer games use more than 1gb so its not worth getting another one

I would not recommend it. I use about 50 visual mods on skyrim with my 7970 and it uses over 2GB of vram. For the same price as those 3 6870's you could get a 7970. I'm also using eyefinity and can get around 45 fps with all those mods. Remember, it's generally recommended to use a single high end card rather than to CF two (or three) midrange ones.

Well i already have one and i can get a dual card from a friend for about 100€ i want to spend max about 200€ so what can you guys advice me?

For a little more (about 10EUR more) could find a 7870 2GB which would be good for you.

I don't think 3 6870s in crossfire is even possible, due to the fact that there is only 1 crossfire connector.

Do you mean you can buy two more cards off of a friend or do you mean you can buy a single card with two GPUs?

If you mean one card with two GPU's I would say that there could be a problem as I do not think there was a dual HD6870 card ever released, the HD6990 is dual 6970's.

I would say that if the card your friend is trying to sell you is a 6990 then go for it, I have one and love it.

No, the HD 7870 is a fantastic card !
