Can I use an AM4 backplate on an AM2 motherboard?

I've won a CPU cooler, and I only have a very old AM2 system thanks to financial issues, and I would also require to replace the RAM to at least DDR3 in case of upgrading (would need eventually, especially as most of my motherboard's USB ports and the LAN no longer work), and I don't really plan to sell it for money, especially as I have bad experiences with stock coolers and their noise levels.

Should I get a backplate from somewhere, or just use the zip-tie method?

You'll need a different backplate.

What's the cooler model?

Yah, you'll have to use the ziptie method since it doesn't look like it has a bracket for AM3/AM2

Yeah, won't fit. Use zipties. What are you changing from? Just the stuck cooler? Depending on your board it shouldn't interfere with anything.

Congrats on the win.

Either zip tie, ghetto fashion a backplate yourself or do a conbo of the two ?

It arrived today, I used the zip tie method. As the mounting hardware interchangeable, I could've made my own, but don't have my own machinery.Still much quieter and better cooling than the stock AM2 cooler. At least I won't have to buy a new one when I upgrade my PC.
