First build. What you think?

EnoFC

CPU: i5 7600k @ 3.80ghz (not overclocked)

Mobo: H110m-a gigabyte

Memory: 8gb ddr4

Graphics: GTX 970

250gb ssd, 800gb hard drive, windows 10 home

Not suppose to be an extreme build.. just for casual and smooth gaming. Maybe upgrades in the future.

Getting the 1600 saves cash on a cooler too. Wraith spire is real good.

I was thinking later on in the future maybe a z170 mobo and overclock it?

i won't recommend it. the ryzen 1600 will perform better for around the same price and you can overclock it with a cheap b350 mobo.

Long term, you will also save money on motherboards if you update your ryzen cpus with coming generations as opposed to doing the same with Intel. What I've heard is that AM4 is here to stay for years.

Don't do this. That is basically the equivalent of an i3 8100 which is like a 120 dollar cpu. Much better off getting a z370 motherboard and a i3 8100 if you want to have a upgrade path. Otherwise you could go ryzen as well for a good platform with longer support.

Idk why everyone is recommending Ryzen. It seems to me OP already has this system.

OP- there are some really weird components and you could have definitely done better, but its a perfectly fine system.

Have you already bought this or are you just planning on doing so?

Z170 motherboards are getting rarer and more expensive.

Ryzen needs a different motherboard.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
