Where are the videos?

I make online payments daily and they take effect immediately.

Not always. If you pay by e-check by paypal it can take up to 2 weeks if you are unlucky. Same goes for credit card or direct internet payment provided by your bank. LMG, PayPal or what ever service you use, they are ALWAYS allowed to postpone your purchase for the sake of "possible fraud".

Then again, glitches do happen. Sadly your attitude happens as well. But frankly that won't make things go any faster at all. By any means probably even slower. Heck I always treated customers who have a terrible attitude with the longest way possible. You know why? So they will NEVER return. I rather have 5 customers that are kind but buy small products with little profit then have 1 insanely ill mannered customer who thinks that is king but buys bulk that would give me a huge profit.

People are NOT your servants.

I don't know who processed it, i'm used to paying for something and then receiving it. This is the first time i've had a payment go through and then not gotten access.  I'm from the US fyi.  Why even advertise in videos that the next video of the series is on floatplane if i can't get it after paying 30 dollars?  All this regional crap is fine if you announce that it will happen.  Liek "Hey guys, if you buy our shit from X country it will take 10 days to go through", that would be fine.  Then i'd know.  As it is it's more like 'Hey guys, donate 30 dollars to us and maybe sometime soon you will get videos"  i wouldn't have paid.  And where the hell is cancelling?  Can't find that either. Guess i have to call AmEx and have them deny the payment.

well it depends on your bank. The quickest way is to pay with a paypal account balance that's funded through your bank.

Also, why 30$? Isn't it 3$ a month?  Did I miss something?

I like the videos, so i bought a year thinking i'd help support the team.   It turns out that paying for a year gets you nothing but a webforum.  I don't need a webforum, i need entertainment.  If netflix can charge you 10 bux and then immediately give you content, why can't this?  Why can i buy a subway sub with my credit card and eat it immediately but i cna't pay for this video and watch it right now?  Did i step back into AOL times?? do i not have enough minutes on my internet card?

Credit card can take quite some time in general. They are not "instant" at all. Your company needs to announce to the receivers company that a transfer will be made. The receiver needs to accept that. Your company need to receive the acceptance. Then the actual transfer will start. When done, the other company needs to confirm the payment. When all that is done, the other company needs to communicate to the Payments Service Provider (short PSP) that the transfer for order X is done. Then the PSP needs to update their records and communicate to LMG that the payment is done. From that moment LMG needs to deliver you the service.

There are a lot of points where it can go wrong. LMG isn't neccesarely at fault.

Your attitude however, if it could go my way, I would've issued a refund to you (if applicable, we can't ever be sure you actually payed) and banned you in an instant. But hey that is just me.

If you read terms of service of your credit card company or the terms of service of the PSP, you'll notice saying that payments are not instant and in some occasions can take a while.

Now quit the bad attitude and grow up.

well you can probably get a refund, they're pretty cool. It's built on the webforum and they are moving it to floatplane.com later this year I think, in the coming months at least.

The reason they used the forum is with minimal modification, you already have security and an account system as well as video commenting. It allowed them to focus all their current effort (before they just hired to new devs) on the video delivery, which has been good.

When you go to the section, you get a list of topic that are sorted by date by default (not latest reply) that are the videos.

YXcflUb.png

The videos themselves are good quality and the player works very well for me. You can also direct download them.

CAXnE0u.png

Comments are left like topic replies, and it's often easy to get direct responses from linus or the staff on them.

I suggest seeing if you can get it changed to a month and see if you like it. They even encouraged people to do this for scrapyard wars - buy a month then plan to cancel. Linus said something like "it's my job to keep providing content that makes you want to stay"

Bottom line is: don't advertise something you can't deliver without a disclaimer.  Id be totally happy to wait for it if i knew that this was broken.  But when you say EPISODE 2 IS ON FLOAT PLANE!!!!! That makes me think i can buy episode 2.   If i have to wait some undetermined amount of time for it after paying 30 dollars, then you might want to let the customer know that.  I would never click buy now on an item with a "undetermined" ship date.

my guess is this is a fringe case. =( I cannot speak as to how quickly it worked for me, as I already donated to them and got access when it launched.

I am dealing with this personally.

It's a fringe case, but one that's unavoidable with the forum's janky integration with PayPal.

The new system will work better.. which doesn't help anyone who is on the current one.. but for us the development time is FAR better allocated to making the new site great than to patching holes in one we plan to abandon very shortly.
