Use it? Yes. Performance? Questionable. It really depends on the game; I have a 1070 and I can get around 120-144FPS at 1440p in Overwatch on max graphics, as well as league (I assume the same with CSGO too), but I can't max out games with open-world 3D graphics (WoW, RSS, Planetside 2) since moving from 1080p.

I'm guessing the same will happen for your 1060. You'll certainly be able to get atleast 144FPS in OW, CSGO, League and those types of games, but you won't get near 144FPS in bigger titles at max settings.

144hz is for esport games, cs go mostly, with this cpu, on low 250+fps so easy :)

144hz is easy for many esport games - however, 144hz is for a smooth, enjoyable experience.

and also every other thing besides esports games

Human eyes cannot see more than 40 FPS...

But seriously, yes, a 144hz monitor will work on any computer as long as it can output to it.

A 1060 will be fine. My 480s do well, cannot always get near 144 on some games, but anything better that 60 is a plus. I'd recommend GSync if you have the extra $$$. I like my FreeSync.

Well, 144hz monitor will let you see the additional 84 FPS... You'll never see the extra 156+.

lol

but still. thats not quite true. there's no framerate really. its just whenever different light hits, there's a slight delay for processing. but there's not really a framerate.

nor is it something we can calculate.
