My Budget Pc Build

eddycuss

PLEASE NOTE MY BUDGET DOES NOT ALLOW TO BUY A BETTER CPU AT THIS CURRENT TIME. I AM ASKING FOR GPU ADVICE AND NOT CPU. SO WITH ALL DUE RESPECT PLEASE DON'T LECTURE ME ON "OH YOU NEED A BETTER CPU" IT IS MY FATHER BUYING ME THE GPU

I have recently built a budget gaming pc for less than £150/$200.

i am using:

AMD A10 - 9700 APU @ 4.2GHZ

16GB DDR4 2133 RAM

ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS motherboard.

&

GTX 650 (Please dont laugh, i had it lying around in a box i found in my attic)

it is clearly worth upgrading my GPU but i am unsure what the best GPU to buy would be.

Should i buy:

2x rx580 and run in crossfire

or

GTX 1060

or

GTX 980TI

what GPU would be best suited to my build

Get a 1050 Ti and a Ryzen 3 1200 (with a B350 board), the A10 is going to bottleneck the GTX 1060 (a lot).

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

How do these compare at all? A single 580 is more or less the same as a 1060, so why are you comparing Xfire 580s vs a 1060? Personally if you have the money for Xfire 580s just get a 1080. But like @Ashiella said you need a better CPU first because what you have will bottleneck any of these GPUs.

like i have mentioned i have built this pc on a budget, and my budget did not allow me to buy a better CPU. I have asked this question because my father has asked which card i would prefer, and i do not want him to buy me a GPU that is going to bottleneck

Take the $600 that the 2 580s would cost.  Spend $200 on a r5 1600 and the rest on the best GPU you can get.

if i had the budget to buy a better CPU i will go and buy one. At this time i dont have the money for that. when i do have the money i intend to to upgrade to a ryzen 7 1700x. but untill that day comes i have to make do with what i currently have

But the problem is it make no sense buy a better GPU because you will barely get any better performance because your CPU will bottleneck your GPU so hard. Save for a CPU first.

Your CPU is going to bottleneck any GPU that is better than a GTX 1050 Ti. Upgrade your CPU to a Ryzen 3 1200 and get a 1050 Ti or a 1060. (Depending on how much money you want to spend)

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

If youre even thinking about getting a new gpu, spend the money on a cpu first. Or go for the 2 rx 580's sell one and your current cpu then by an r7 1700 or something

HE WONT BUY ME A CPU AS I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS ONE FOR A WEEK OR SO. HE HAS OFFERED TO ME A GPU AS THE 650 I AM CURRENTLY USING IS HELD TOGETHER WITH RUBBER BANDS, ZIP TIES, AND SUPER GLUE.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, i see; thats truly unfortunate. Two rx 580's, sell one buy a cpu under the books without him knowing. If that doesnt work for you the 980ti.

Understood, but the GPUs you are looking at are not going to run very well with that CPU.  Honestly, you may have a better experience with the 650 than a580!  I know that sounds counter intuitive, but it may be true.

If you have had this CPU for only a week, you can probably return it. Return the CPU and get a Ryzen 3 1200 with a GTX 1060 or an RX 580 (or used 980/980 Ti)

why would i return the motherboard and ram??? i would then need to go and buy another AM4 board and DDR4 ram, when that is what i already use

Try returning the CPU and getting a Ryzen 3 1200 instead. If it's only a week you should be able to...

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

That's unfortunate, but tell him you won't get better performance unless you upgrade both, and you could easily get much better components for 650.

Get the 980ti, assuming your power supply can handle it, that will perform the best and when you upgrade your CPU, you'll have a great GPU.
