Diy charged for any lipo?

Legolessed

Ok so I might get a hover board with no charger and I was wondering if I could make my own. This is the current charger.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBTIB66/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FM34zbPPFBHB2. Is there any way I can make my own? I can also open it up and change the connector but I don’t know what would work. I have balance plugs and my hobby charger that does 1-3s lipos. Idk

That's not a charger, just a 2A 42V AC adapter. One can conclude 2 things from this:

(Yes, Amazon calls it a charger, it's not)

  • The actual charging circuit is in the hover board itself. (or battery pack if removable)
  • If it needs 42V charging voltage it's going to have a lot more then 3 cells...

You could make your own 42V 2A linear power supply. But a 84VA (toroid) transformer is going to cost a lot more then that adapter.

LiPos need to be balanced, hover boards often have BMSs to balance and handle charging and keep the battery safe. You need a more concrete system that's not made by you. I won't make a charger for my batteries.
