5.1 on MacBook Air over Mini DP

Hello All! 

 

So I have a 5.1 system in my basement. Its an Integra DRX-2 I believe, but that dosen't matter. When i plug in my MacBook Air, it has 5.1 audio over MiniDisplay Port. I can open up the speaker config and click on each speaker and sound will play through the correct speaker. So does the Blu Ray player thats also hooked into the DRX-2. However, when im playing audio through any application at all, it only plays through the L and R speakers. Any ideas? Are there any settings I missed?

Does the audio you're playing have 5.1 audio? The source content needs to have 5.1 audio unless the preamp is in a mode to just duplicate the 2.0/2.1 track across 5.1.

Its from my Plex which is 5.1 playing through Safari
