how do you think an amd a6 3620 apu and a gtx 1060 3gb would perform?

i just ordered a new gtx 1060 3gb g1 gaming from gigabyte and i have a very poor amd a6 3620 apu in my current system and i was wondering how much of a bottleneck i should expect or what performance people think i can achieve. please leave a response as im quite worried about this. thank you

A 750Ti or similar would pair nicely with that CPU from what I've found so I expect the 1060 to be held back a good bit.

What games, resolution, etc. are you playing or targeting?

i dont really mind playing lower settings and im targeting 1600 x 900 for resolution or 720p on games like counterstrike, rainbow six siege, or froza horizion 3.

GTX 1050 is a good choice. not the ti version, because that would bottleneck in most games.

i can play Overwatch with mine on 1080p epic settings, so for csgo and stuff you should be totally fine.

i ran mine with a Core 2 Quad for a while.. which is a bit faster than your cpu:

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core2-Quad-Q9550-vs-AMD-A6-3620-APU/m334vsm8057

but i didn't experience any major bottlenecks with that cpu... however it was overclocked to 3.7 ghz... sooo...

ran Overwatch and older call of duty games just fine, in combination with the 1050.

quick question; what is your budget?

1060 3GB should pair nicely. I don't see anything wrong with this pairing in the majority of games. I would upgrade the CPU whenever you have the chance to do so by going CFL or Ryzen.

you should have waited with your order.

a 1060 will bottleneck like crazy. a 1050ti would bottleneck, let alone a 1060.

you could have spent your money way better by investing in a faster cpu and something like a 1050ti

in most games an apu that slow will bottleneck it hard.

remember that those things have AWFUL single core performance. it's pathetic.

it's 30% slower than a 9 year old intel cpu...

that makes sense sort of... do you even have the power supply to run a 1060 right now?

okay, then i understand...

be prepared for some hardcore bottlenecks until you build your new system...

What's your planned build? Do you have another upgrade that you're planning?

Brothers' friends have an FX-6300 and upgraded to a GTX 1060 - it still bottlenecks in some games even with overclocking on the CPU because FX != Ryzen or Intel. That being said, it will depend on the game you play too, since some games are just flat out not optimized at all. cough RUSTcough
