Could I have Apple upgrade my MacBook Pro?...

My 2016 MacBook Pro has 8gigs of RAM and a 256gb hard drive.  Could I take it to my local Apple Store and pay Apple to upgrade the RAM (to 16gigs) and the hard drive?  If so, how much would it cost?

Theoretically you could but nobody has really tried it.

Lol, OK, well forget about then.  I’m still on the fence about whether or not I’d like to sell it-people say that Macs really hold their value, but with the ram soldered onto the motherboard, wouldn’t that devalue this Mac??

No it won't.

Used my 2012 non retina 13 inch for 5 years.

Sold it for like $450.

And it is a non retina model. Yours value will hold up pretty damn good.

And Let's just say that 95% of the time 8GB of ram is enough on a mac.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

I bought a 2gb ram air from 2013 with a broken USB port, and beat to crap for 300 USD. One of my favorite computers. It was the only one on eBay guaranteed to have a charger. New that went for 700~

Edit:

thing still runs like a dream using the built in Mac programs like GarageBand and safari.

I know it’s enough, I just saw some videos on YouTube with a guy gaming on the same model MacBook Pro that I have using just the Intel Iris Graphics 540, and 16GB of ram.  He was getting frame rates that are at least as good as what you’d see on a PS4 or Xbox One.  I didn’t get my MacBook Pro for gaming, but seeing those videos really impressed me.
