WB hide Shadow of Wars true ending behind a choice, grind for 40 - 50 hours or pay

I can't say that isn't true to be honest, I've never played the game (don't want to spread misinformation).

Well we'll know how bad it ends up once it comes out and we have newer reviews (Maybe WB will change some mechanics due to backlash).

You can level up your captains by making them fight in the Pit. You don't need legendary captains or anything, but rather strong assets without risky deficits. Kind of like how the first game had captain strength and weaknesses even among the elite captains.

TL;DR: Better perks and skills over legendary captains as you can train them.

It's already out. WB pulled an entire game from steam once due to the backlash (Batman), so maybe they will change something if everyone just complains enough.

But the problem I see here isn't just with WB. It's microtransactions in AAA ganes in general. Wether it's an orc army, better weapons, cards in Fifa. Developers can't be arsed to create proper DLC content anymore so they implement game mechanics that will push the player towards microtransactions. It's a pay to win model and that's even worse than overpriced DLC that holds no value because it affects the base game we already paid for. I wish there were more developers like CD Projekt Red who value their customers and actually offer them a quality product in return for their money. Sadly the business model we see here will stay popular as long as it's viable so the only thing we can do is either not fall for the microtransactions or ignore the games completely.

I hate AAA games much more than the average hater but 40-50 hours additional grinding right at the end just doesn't sound real

Maybe if you're as competent as that guy playing cuphead
