we hated the anti-rgb build because you fucked it all up, you started with a white case to PAINT black that made it all blotchy and shitty looking, then you killed the components with paint instead of just getting black parts to start with.

I don't like this build because it's hardly anything special, it looks more or less the same to any other RGB themed build except with a few other add ons. Honestly, is this the best content coming from the channel these days?

I can't say for everyone else, but my reason for not liking the "anti-rgb" build is because you guys devalued, and for the motherboard, ruined hardware, all to make RGB components black, components that cost more just because they're RGB.  Not to mention that black is a very common color when it comes to PC hardware.

 

The video wasn't helpful, nor was it entertaining.  Not even the most insane modder is going to buy RGB components, and then paint over them, that defeats the entire point of RGB.

 

@LinusTech If you had built a classy, all black PC, with components that are easily obtainable, instead of slapping paint on everything, your like/dislike ratio for that video would have probably been much better.

I don't like it at all. All those extra cables makes water cooling what's already considered impractical a total cable management hell.

Using lights in your PC is fine with me but use one constant color, else it's just way to distracting.

And that's basically what the "anti-RGB" part is about. It doesn't mean going full blackout like the "anti RGB" build they made. It just means getting away from the shifting colors that don't have any real purpose.

 

The only part of the build that's interesting to me is the fittings. But again I don't like the fact they're all RGB. I'd instead prefer just one solid color. Preferably just white or UV and letting the coolant dictate the color. And Nanoxia has those. Just ordered a pair of their white LED fittings to see how well they work with colored, transparent coolant instead of the opaque like they used. Gonna be a cable management nightmare, but hopefully I won't need them at both ends of each tube.

those rgb fittings are surprisingly nice. But no rgb fans? and no rgb psu? Kinda half-assed. And for some kind of "flagship-build" you should have used two gpus (practical or not) like Jay did in his recent TR build.

@LinusTech, next time sync the RGB!! Having everything competing like in this and in the last RGB build doesn't look good. I've managed to sync all my lighting (even cross-vendor) and get some pretty cool effects going with Aura, SP120 RGB fans and individually addressable LED strip. Its not hard to setup, there's guide in my signature that details how to read RGB data off an Aura header and interface with SP120 and HD120/140 RGB fans using arduino. You can even stick more than 6 fans together with some modification of the RGB hub as would have been required for this build. After that, the only limiting factor is your imagination in terms of effects to program into the software.

 

The fittings should be fairly easy to interface to. I can't tell you exactly how, as I couldn't find any documentation about them, but they should be able to be hooked up to either an arduino or aura header with very minimal effort.

I hope you're joking about the reasons you think the anti-RGB video got slated. I hope it's bait, it's definitely bait. Some people disliked that you ruined working stuff, but mostly I think people were insulted with sloppy writing, poor jokes that were repeated multiple times, and the general non-content nature of the video. Doing a cheesy bit or two in a video is par for the course for the channel, and in limited quantities it works, but that video is a shining example of way too far. It's insulting that you thought the audience would respond well to it. Think Mighty Number 9 saying "like an anime fan on prom night", it's that level of insulting. Other videos that took it too far in my mind include the one where you took a desktop on a camping trip and covered it in camo netting, and the 10 minute advert masquerading as a toast goof. I know humour is subjective but man. It would be helpful if you labelled non-content as such in the title, the same goes for ads (I know all your vids have ads and sponsored hardware etc, but I mean at least the toaster vid should have had #ad in the title).

 

This video was better. I don't give a toss about RGB, but I watched it for the build porn, even if the build itself was nothing special. The intro was only mildly triggering, and I only had to skip 2 minutes of ads. B-  

 

I registered on this forum specifically to say my piece about the anti-RGB video weeks ago. Take it how you want, but I'm coming from the place of being a fan, pointing out what I see as mistakes in the hope that you minimise them in the future.

I agree, sync the RGB so it doesn't look like shit, That TridentZ ram deserves better treatment than that. I personally like that case but you should have gone black with it so the white wouldn't clash with the RGB hardline, black would accentuate it a lot better. or gunmetal. with that fullblock cooler that thing needs to be overclocked to hell and back, at least to see how far it can go.

 

and i agree with everone else, the AntiRGB build would have been 10000% better if you had done it properly and not just fucked up perfectly good parts. if you were gonna have it painted at least go for Vantablack, or just chuck it into a black hole since you like wasting hardware so much (just to be sarcastic).
