iPhone 8 has wireless charging problems

I'm inclined to believe that it comes down to the user more so than the device since I've seen plenty of people complaining about device X while others have no issue with device X.

iPhones have always had really strong vibrators...

My iPhone 5 vibrated itself off of a table once.... lol

I'm using wireless charging on multiple devices. I never had any trouble with it. Especially with Galaxy S7 Edge / Galaxy Note 8 using the dedicated Samsung 'Fast charger'. It just works. I place the device on the stand before going to sleep and in the morning the battery is full. It never failed me.

It's just more elegant solution than cables. Of course it's not perfect. It's less efficient, generates some heat and it's much slower, however for overnight charging it works perfect for me.

wasn't that the reason why they were hesitant to adopt Qi in the early years? o_o like why now if it's still as shit?

So right now just a standard 5V wired charger is in the range of 50-65% efficiency from AC outlet to phone battery but can be lower with poor or very long cables.

With wireless charging on a single coil it is about 45% efficient AC to battery.

The distinction is with wireless charging the power is lost due to heating the phone where as a plug heats the wall wart.

I don't get the fascination with it honestly, a wired charging solution at least i can pop past, pick my phone up and check my messages or something, make a call w/e then put it back down without having interrupted the charging process but a wireless charging setup is cut the second i pick my phone up.  The whole thing just seems to be a quality of life change for something that wasn't even annoying to begin with.

The only way i see it as being useful to me is if we get to the point where all coffee shops end up having it built into their tables so i can trickle in some power while having a coffee/chat with a friend, or on my bedside table where the phone would sit still for 8~ hours anyway.
