To run games at 4k you will need a 1080 or 1080ti, which already costs $500-$700 so if you want to run games at 4k 60 fps, then around $1500 say you get an r7 1700 or r5 1600

Try using the PSU Tier List!

with a 4k monitor you can play games at 1080p, then you don't need as fantastic a gpu as a 1080ti, if you want/need to keep costs down

@ or reply to someone to mention them

2.5k would be great.  Do you need a monitor and peripherals too (monitor and keyboard)?

EDIT: Also seeing as how coffee lake reviews are coming out in a few days I'd wait to buy or make a final parts list.

Depends on what you do, but usually it can be done for a budget. If 2.5k is your budget, you need everything including peripheral right?

So I have a 4k monitor and a 2k monitor. My 4k is for video editing, and games where I don't care about getting above 60 FPS. I use my 2k (IPS, GSYNC, 165hz) for all my other games. This is very similar to my build. At 4k the CPU IPC stops mattering as much because the processing gets pushed onto the GPU in gaming situations. For your rendering this gives you plenty of cores.

Oh and its all RGB.
