Eh it's more of a modern Mustang GT350 or something competing with a Ferrarri or other proper supercar. The performance difference won't be massive, but they're not quite in the same league. Insisting the Mustang is a supercar wouldn't fly well with people who own supercars either. 

AIOs are "watercooling" in a technical sense. But I hate the term because 1) it seems to imply that it's as reliable and performs as well and has the prestige of a custom loop. It does not. And 2), reeeeeee I gosh durn threw hundreds of dollars and hours of my time into my loop and carefully cut every single line to the exact length to route my tubing in the most aesthetically pleasing yet still practical manner, then spent a few good nervewracking minutes leak testing it with thousands in hardware strapped to it, then had to flush and refill it again afterwards. It's really not the same as an AIO, I put a lot of passion and time into a custom loop, and AIO is just a "grab it from the box and slap it in lol" solution. Also the vast majority cannot cool anything more than one component unless you cut them to bits. 

Basically technically yes an AIO is a watercooling solution. But given how the term "custom loop" and "watercooling" are used synonymously, it seems to imply that they're on the same level, when they really aren't at all. 

At least EVGA labels theirs correctly as a CLC, Closed Loop Cooler. Whereas a custom loop and like 3 AIOs are Open Loop Coolers/Cooling solutions. AIO just means All In One and tbh it's a weird term, it's applied to iMacs and all sorts of other stuff too lol. But eh, the popular term for a standard CLC cooler is AIO so we're stuck with it.

core is definitely more important on haswell-e. 

X99 classified doen't have the OC socket IIRC, you need a newer mobo (or any asus mobo) to overclock the uncore higher. Not worth it. Anything over 4GHz uncore is silicon lottery.

also at 47, your cpu isn't much better than mine at 43. I would expect to see 9% more performance but it's only showing 3% more.

42core/40uncore 1.27v both. 

that run was 43core 1.35v.

You should try using more of the unlocked multipliers that you have with the 980x, my setup was unstable for the longest time trying to do 200x22 and 200x23 but when I switched to 180x25/1.4v~ and enabled the turbo multipliers it just worked perfectly.

Depends what board you're using. Some boards have an easier time with higher bclks than others. I'm using an MSI X58 Big Bang Xpower I got from @Zando Bob with a i7 970 I picked up from ebay. I'm using 200x22 @ 1.35V for 4.4Ghz with DDR3-2400 running at 2000mhz. I don't want to push harder right now on my old H110i GTX. I'd want better cooling cause under full prime95 I'm seeing 81~82C. I tried 4.6Ghz but it crashes about a 30 seconds after launching anything, which means I might be able to stabilize it with more vcore but my cooler won't be able to handle it cause CB r15 pushes it upto 87C before my system locks up.

You down to summon Satan with me? That's part of the process for removing it...

more like actually it uses 2 screws but they're hex but also don't have holes in the top of the cooler like Noctuas with the 2 screw system do so you have to hold it at an angle and I can't just use my normal driver so I have to remove it with like 1/2 turns the whole time because oh the hex key is also an L one so the side part hits the heatsink without letting you turn it all the way around
