Help with Corsair 570X RGB Build

dsmith12

Hi,

I am currently planning a build in the Corsair 570X. I am using a h100i v2 cooler but I would like to replace the stock fans with rgb ones to have all of my rgb fans in my case sync up via corsairs software. Which fans do I need to buy and what else do I have to do to make this work?

Thanks, David

You probably can just buy 2 SP120 RGB fans. I believe the fan controller in the case has 6 outputs so you could just plug the fans in there.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

If they use stuff other than SP120 I think they won't be able to sync with other fans tho

that is very true. only sp120 fans will work with the controller the case already has, kinda stupid they couldnt get the hd120 to work on same controller

I've got 6 SP120. Make sure you buy a lighting node pro to software control them via Corsair Link, or Commander Pro to control light AND fans via link.

Where did you wire your radiator sp’s to/how?

They go to the H100 v2's controller, but the RGB control cable goes to the RGB hub.

Do you know if I can use the SP120 Fan Controller that comes with the 570X or do I need a Commander Pro? Note: I would like to be able to control the lighting on software as well.

thanks david

It's not a fan controller. It's an RGB hub. The fans will need to be plugged into the motherboard or a fan hub/splitter. If you want to use software to control just the RGBs, you need the Lighting Node Pro. If you want to control the RGBs AND the fans, you need the Commander Pro. The fans have two cables each. RGB & Power. It's a bit confusing, I know.

Ok, so DO NOT plug the SP120s into the H100i v2. Corsair Link can only control the fan speed of PWM fans. I completely forgot these fans were only 3 pin.

What exactly did you do? Do you have a Commander Pronor do you just use the included RGB Hub? And just to confirm, nothing plugs in to the h100i v2?

This hub is only to manually control the lighting of the fans, you need to use it regardless of getting a LNP or CP.

The top cable there is going to be removed from the case controller and inserted into a Lighting Node Pro OR Commander Pro.

Lighting Node Pro: Only controls RGB. Comes w/ 4 LED strips. Cannot be used to control or power fan speeds in any way.

Commander Pro: Controls RGB and fan speed. Does not come with any RGB strips.

I am using a lighting node pro and just running the fans off of a splitter. Originally, I had the fans connected to the H100i v2, but they run @ a solid 1500RPM (aka full speed) and cannot be controlled due to being 3-pin non-PWM fans. So I have connected them through the motherboard and control them via Asus AI Suite.

So if I wanted to use the Commander Pro, would I replace the stock rgb controller with it and just plug in the fans that were originally connected to the Commander. Is that where I also plug in the fan power lead for the fans?

Thanks, David

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry to butt in, dont mean to derail...

How does the Node connect to your system? USB header?

Is there a way I am overlooking to control ALL rgb effects (fans, strips, mobo leds, gpu leds etc) from one software source such as mystic light?

Or does everyone have to just use 2-5 different ways to try and sync these up?
