Really Hope My monitor isn't dying...

Need help! I just recently am getting weird artifacting (like a croma colour split on my display) that happened about 10 mins ago. Is it over heating, bad cable, or a dying display?

I have tried switching display ports on my GPU, reset the Display settings, turning on and off G-Sync and changing refresh rates. Haven't switched display port cables yet i'll get back in a bit with that.

It has to be something in the software if you're able to take a screenshot of it and still see the artifacts. Unless I'm mistaken.

That was a video there where no screen shots i have a second display and when i move the images over (any window for that matter) the artifacting is gone, i think its dead so i'm probably going to have to return it under warranty.

I've had monitors need firm ware updates (like fucking well, a monitor needing firmware updates) to fix serious flickering and turning off issues, so maybe google the model number to see if there is similar issues, it'd save you an RMA

Those were all screenshots? Then the monitor is the issue. If you can RMA it, do it post-haste.

The monitor firmware is up-to-date

Those where test images i made a while ago for colour matching between my displays, the artifacting is coming from the display.

Mine was currupted from a bad PSU or something, so maybe something similar has happened, but looks like something is very wrong obviously.

Well new problem has arrived the display might be overheating, came back today and it was completely fine (i'm going to keep it on to see if it comes back).

 

Want to bump up this thread because i'm curious if this is a problem with the PG278Q product line as I checked around and it is normal for the front bottom and display controls to get warm/hot.

Does the monitor use a brick, whether at the wall or in between, for its power? I would check to make sure that it isn't overheating.
