So you have no idea when it actuates? Might need browns then? Would go blue but I read that they are bad if you need to mash them fast.

im using a mech keyboard with red switches .. i hate them, i am literally incapable of typing on this keyboard without completely bottoming out the keys, im much better off with a good old membrane keyboard than this to be honest, then again, some people do like them... each to his own, it's all a matter of taste, don't get the keys that are good or bad for this and that, just get the ones you think you will like, that will make a bigger difference than any supposed "benefit".

Can't decide if I need to get blues or browns...

Love the sound of blues, and I'm already used to bringing the key right back up to re-activate, but with browns I could tap so fast.

Oh yeah and I love the sound of blues, and with o-rings they are perfect.

I think I will. I was doing some coding today and thought that it sure would be nice to have some blues as I am told they are the best for typing.

So the MX switch most like a rubber dome is a cheap HP rubber dome?

Quite. Rubber domes are most like rubber domes.

To be honest, you don't need all of this fancy mechanical switch stuff. I have a Black ALPS keyboard and to be honest, it's pretty terrible. Besides, if he is wanting to get a mechanical keyboard which feels like domes, why not get a dome one in the first place?

Compatible with Windows 95

I agree also ALPS switches are mechanical but yes there are people who prefer rubber dome keyboards

If you wanted a switch with a bump that activates quickly I'd go with browns and red O-rings.

Seriously, I need very little force and travel to get the keys to press and don't ever need to press the keys to the bottom, you learn to look out for that accentuation bump.

I would get a dome keyboard if you want something like it otherwise mx reds because of the short travel and force for them :P

Hoping to get a K70 or G710+ depending on price. I want to try something that should be better for typing since I am into programming and that means quite a bit of typing.
