Firstly I will say that Gaming Laptops are a waste of money. You still need to plug them into the wall to get their full performance, not to mention that they cost 4 times as much as a desktop with similar specs.

however I would recommend this one

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i5577-5328BLK-PUS-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XFG7157/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1505489300&sr=8-4&keywords=gtx 1050 gaming laptop&tag=linus21-20

sadly, I probably will have to get a low end gaming laptop just to get a laptop with a not iGPU and a ultra shit i5/i7 for under $1000 cad.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Then build a desktop instead. If you're going to school and need a laptop. Just build a desktop and get a normal netbook.

I have a desktop, see my signature.

I just want something to use on the go that isn't complete shit and can handle my chrome habits; a i5 7200u cannot keep up without lagging slightly.

I mean, an i5 shouldn't be stuttering at all with Chrome. An i3 shouldn't either.

You don't understand the amount of shit I have going on in background tabs. It shouldn't, but it does, even with Lubuntu. Returned it, waiting for 8350u; should not stutter, right?

I guess it depends on what you're doing. I've used an i3 6100u before for normal Chrome tasks such as youtube/ twitch/ and other browsing and it ran just fine.

It will run, it just will stutter once in a while for me.

Multiple windows of tabs, ayy.. Tab hogging is a bad habit.

Uhhh dude, $1000CAD is more than enough for a used Elitebook/Thonkpad... Something like an T440p or 840 G1 would be right up your alley.

idk

No used, parents fucking hate used for some reason.
Used thonkpad that is 1080p IPS and at least sandy quad core was ~$600 in June (shipping, border tax, USD -> CAD..)

I've had over 100 tabs open at once in Firefox Nightly and my system started to stutter a little (i5 3360M)

Can't wait until I get my 3740QM in this sucker and boom, I'll be good.

idk

Firefox can actually play 720p video on my core duo with a couple of dropped frames.

Chromium? 144p. 240p drops too much for my taste.
