If it for my socket 1151 then I Would, but since it doesn't I guess I won't. :P

You can't upgrade to Ryzen when you already have a Ryzen

Okay to clarify myself:

Upgrading from Athlon X2 to Ryzen 7: YES.

I think it would have been interesting to add a small section about how it compares with laptops too. It may sound silly but as most people are still using laptops, it could give them a better idea of what they would be getting in terms of performance if they decided to build a desktop pc vs a laptop.

Maybe for another video ^_^

I guess you have a point. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW ryzen will win almost every single time. But is it going to win by a margin significant enough that people who do not already own a desktop pc would sacrifice the portability of their laptops, to build a pc. That's what I'm trying to aim at.

Considering I'm already invested in DDR3 and the Haswell gen (which is still quite good today), there is little point in upgrading to Ryzen.

I wouldn't necessarily say so. Portability is kind of a big deal for most people. I've had arguments with friends (pc gamers) who wouldn't bother building a pc because their laptops "do the job"

I don't know, I'm just throwing an idea out there. But I think it wouldn't be that much work to include some laptop benchmarks and it would help some people cross the gap between paying for expensive laptops to build their own PC. For ryzen it may be a little silly because there are no 8 core laptops on the market rn, but for intel CPUs or even some Nvidia GPUs it could be useful to some. Just saying ^_^

Christmas can't come soon enough. So hyped for upgrade from Athlon X4 860K to Ryzen 5 1600!!! Was pretty sure Ryzen was a good buy but glad LTT agrees.

1300x and a 1070 has to be a bottleneck. It would be better to get a 1060 6 GB and an SSD with the money saved.

Definitly. And I did so. My current system has an Ryzen 7 1800X with 32GB Ram at 3200MHz and a GTX 1070 Strix. U gessed it, its a productivity setup and Ryzen was the perfect chance to upgrade from my older i7 4790K. And of course its RGB!

What about higher resolution gaming? Will you see more of an advantage for the Ryzen CPU's? Or will the difference just be smaller since more of the workforce is being moved to the GPU?

And still no Windows 7 support on Ryzen. That means no Ryzen drivers for Windows 7. Thanks, Micro$oft.

I edit after I post, so wait until I'm done editing if you're about to reply.
