Alright I just stumbled on this YouTube video,

 

Can you believe this? That is one wacky way to mount GPU's.

How much power are they eating just to mine a crypto currency?

This is just a low end mine. They use lots of power, but then get like $10 a day.

i expected some sort of prepped shelf for a modular infrastructure so you can just fill a warehouse with them.

 

kind of like serverracks, but for mining specificly.

A lot of the larger infrastructures actually invest in solar to power their rigs.

That's what I was also expecting.  Well, you can't have nice things.

A shame that crypto currencies are tanking right now. IIRC Ethereum and Bitcoin have dropped by like 20% or some such since the China ban.

That is nothing new on mounting GPUs.  I see people in other F@H and BOINC threads do similar mount methods with their computer GPUs.
