Otherwise, yea 550W seems like a reasonable choice.

Yes, Pc Partpicker wattage estimator is garbage, it only uses IDLE loads and stock parts like FE versions of GPU's. Add 100-200 Watts on whatever it is telling you.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

No it doesn't, it uses the max TDP of each part thats placed in the list, so its generally pretty accurate for what the max possible load could be. (assuming no overclocks)

Well, a 550-watt power supply should be fine. However, I would personally go for something higher for future upgrades and or overclocking

Why on earth would you do this build for gaming? Step down the ram to 16gb, and if you're going to get a 1080ti, get a 4k monitor or maybe step down to a 1070 and get a good 1440p monitor.. also get windows from kinguin (~$25-30) Also don't you think the case is a bit underwhelming?

Let him do what he wants then. If he wants to spend 2k+ on a pc to play at full hd and wont listen to you, then let him. I'm assuming its his money not yours :#
